Please be alert for email
scams where the email is not specifically addressed to you and is from a
correspondent who says he/she wants to rent something he/she doesn’t describe,
at unspecified dates, sight unseen, and is eager to pay in advance.
Particularly beware of advance payment by cashier checks and money orders as
these frequently turn out to be stolen. The message below is typical in both
language and content. It is addressed to JoeD and was probably received by all
of us.
