Significant wave height Significant wave height (meters) is equivalent to the average of the highest one-third of all of the wave heights during the 30-minute sampling period.
Period Dominant wave period (seconds) is the period with the maximum wave energy. Wave periods higher than 30 sec are not realistic and due to transmission errors.
Direction Direction, relative to true north (north = 0, east= 90, south=180, west=270), from which the swell is coming from. In the case where more than one swell is present, this value can be misleading. Check the directional spectrum plots for each buoy for more accurate information.
